BBQ to thank community for mental health support

National mental health charity Richmond Fellowship is inviting the local community in Surrey to its annual BBQ to thank them for their support at a local supported housing service.

Croft House, run by national mental health charity Richmond Fellowship, supports people living with mental health problems gain the skills and confidence to move onto independent living.

Local MP Dominic Raab as well as representatives from the Mayors office and Surrey Council are set to attend the event and celebrate the work of Croft House.

Maddy Smith, locality manager for Richmond Fellowship in North West Surrey, said:

“We’re delighted to open our doors to the community and celebrate their support in making Croft House a successful service for people in the area living with mental health problems.
“The entire community has come together to support our residents to integrate with the community and take great strides on their recovery journey and this event is a celebration of everyone’s achievements.”

As well as the BBQ there will be badminton, table tennis and a range of live music to entertain guests.

Steven Smith-Trask, managing director for Richmond Fellowship (south) said:

“Our supported housing services help bridge the gap between residential recovery and independent living.
“As a social landlord we provide services like Croft House that are vital for people living with mental health problems to learn new skills, integrate with the community and gain the confidence to move onto independent living.
“None of this would be possible without support from the local community and we’re delighted to be hosting this open day celebration to thank them for their support.”

The open day is being held on Friday 1 July at Croft House, 12 Matham Road, East Molesey, Surrey from 1pm.
