Mental health services doing an important job in Cambridge
Mental health services in Cambridgeshire are ‘doing a very important job in a very effective way’
according to a leading service user network.
Services from national mental health charity Richmond Fellowship, part of Recovery Focus, in Wisbeth, March and Godmanchester were visited and independently appraised by the SUN Network.
Clare Pecheur, from SUN Network, has previously accessed mental health services and used her experience when appraising Richmond Fellowship’s services in the area. She said:
“The overall impression I came away with is that Richmond Fellowship is doing a very important job in a very effective way.
“The clients were full of praise and enthusiasm around the care and support that they receive from any member of staff that they come into contact with.
“The standards were of an exceptionally high level, the enthusiasm that was shown by the staff in each of the areas visited was matched by the respect and interaction of the clients each time they visited for a session or a workshop.”
The SUN Network aims to ensure high quality, appropriate mental health services are being provided throughout Cambridgeshire and independently assess services based on their empathy, honesty, inclusion, personalisation and work to involve people using services.
Richmond Fellowship received the highest award of four stars for their services across the county which includes supported housing, employment support and community based mental health recovery services.
