The Old Moat Garden Centre Store in Epsom

Categories: Social Enterprise

Who we are

The Old Moat Garden Centre and Cafe is a social enterprise service built to help people living with mental ill health re-gain important life skills in employment and volunteering in a safe and friendly environment.

What we do

Our social enterprise garden centre supports people in the way that works for them.

This includes training towards achieving vocational qualifications in horticulture or retailing or just the experience of team work in a supportive environment which can help build confidence and provide a structure to daily life.

We provide support planning sessions allowing people to set goals personal to their own recovery and identify what support may be needed to help them meet their aspirations.

Through the Workers’ Educational Association we provide courses in such subjects as transferable skills, confidence building, self presentation, communication skills, mindfulness and goal setting.

The expansion of the garden centre has enabled us to offer a wider variety of work placements and employment opportunities.

As well as the services we provide to the people we support, we provide horticultural and retails services to the public through our garden centre, café and shop.

Who we help

Surrey residents aged over 18 with mental ill health.

And of course, anyone can come along to visit and shop at the Old Moat.

Getting referred

We accept self referrals, as well as GP, Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT), Community Mental Health Recovery Service (CMHRS) and other professionals or voluntary organisations.

Who we are

Redhill Art Matters is a social enterprise service built to help people living with mental ill health re-gain important life skills in employment and volunteering in a safe and friendly environment.

What we do

Established in 1995, Art Matters is a community arts studio and centre of wellbeing, mindfulness and growth, aiming to connect communities and provide creative pathways to recovery.

We work directly with Richmond Fellowship’s East Surrey Community Connections services.
