Peterborough mental health employment service grows

Employment 2A national mental health charity is hosting an open day to celebrate the success of its employment services as they move into a new venue.

Richmond Fellowship, part of Recovery Focus, operates an employment service in Peterborough which is hoping to increase the number of people living with mental health problems it supports through moving to a new site.

Steven Smith-Trask, managing director for Richmond Fellowship (south), said:

“We’re extremely proud of our employment services.
“Employment guidance is extremely important to the people we support whether they are experiencing mental health problems at work and require help in managing this, or are seeking to return to work following their mental health recovery.
“Our new site in Peterborough will help us reach more people living with mental health problems and support them to retain their employment or help them access voluntary work, training or employment.”

In 2014/15, Richmond Fellowship’s employment services helped support 78% of people referred to access employment, training or education.

The open day will see invited guests visit the service, speak to people who’ve used employment services and who have experiences of mental health problems as well as finding out more information about accessing the service.

The open day takes place on Wednesday 18 May at 42 Park Road, Peterborough, PE1 2TG between 10:00am and 2:00pm
