Mental health charity gears up for Liverpool Loves Festival

Loves2A national mental health charity will be represented at the inaugural Liverpool Loves Festival this weekend promoting mental health in the city.

Richmond Fellowship, the national charity making mental health recovery a reality, will be manning a stall at the Liverpool Loves Wellbeing Festival on Liverpool Pier Head to discuss mental health and challenge stigma.

Wendy Baylis-Wareing, regional manager for Richmond Fellowship, said: “We’re very pleased to have the chance to talk to people about mental health as part of the first Liverpool Loves Festival.

“Our staff, volunteers and people who use out services will be out in force to have conversations about mental health and show people some of the work we do to make recovery a reality.”

Richmond Fellowship runs a number of services throughout Merseyside for people with mental health problems including supported housing, employment support and community based projects.

The charity also operates a mental health time banking service where people come together to share skills, such as photography, music and cooking, and improve their mental wellbeing.

Josh Boyd, managing director at Orb Event Solutions CiC, the organisation behind the Liverpool Loves Festival, said:  “Richmond Fellowship delivers some fantastic work in the Liverpool area and is an invaluable asset to local communities. We’re honoured to welcome them on board as one of our key Liverpool Loves Wellbeing partners.

“Having them at the event to discuss mental ill health issues and reducing the stigma that surrounds it is really important to us. We look forward to welcoming them into the festival.”

Liverpool Loves festival runs from 6-8 August at the Pier Head in Liverpool. Richmond Fellowship will be manning an information stall on 8 August.
