Richmond Fellowship recruiting new Chair

Richmond Fellowship is looking for an outstanding Chair to provide clear strategic leadership as part of our new group, Recovery Focus.

Recovery Focus is a new national group of charities providing a range of mental health and substance misuse support services across England. Our growth has been iterative and collaborative, and is ongoing, with a vision to create a group of like-minded organisations who  add value to each other and to  the people who use our services.

The partnership is made up of mental health charities Richmond Fellowship, 2Care, Croftlands Trust and My Time along with substance misuse charities Aquarius and CAN. Each partner organisation has its own rich history of success but together we believe we can lead the way in evidence-based recovery pathways  tailored to meet local and individual needs. We work with a wide range of partners including local authorities, the NHS, police, prison and probation services, other voluntary sector providers, housing associations and academic institutions.

Group chief executive Derek Caren said: “We’re in our strongest position ever to change more lives and carry greater influence. But while the foundations are in place, there is much more we need to do to fulfil our potential and turn our aspirations into reality.”

As Group Chair, you will work closely with Board members and our chief executive to develop our forward strategy and ensure that we have a sufficiently integrated approach. As a high-profile ambassador for  Recovery Focus, you will also promote and champion our role with policy makers, the media and a broad spectrum of opinion formers.

You may come from a commercial, public sector or not for profit background. But wherever you have worked, you will bring a commitment to the highest standards of leadership and governance, along with an appreciation of  our sector  and a genuine interest in  our work and future potential. With significant standing in your field, your reputation will be commensurate with the task of overseeing a national organisation of ambition, scale and complexity. Outstanding relationship management, influencing and ambassadorial skills are absolutely essential for this role, along with unquestionable integrity.
