Accreditations and Awards

We’re accredited

As one of the leading mental health charities in England, we believe being accredited in the areas our organisation works in and the people we work with is very important.

From being Disability Confident in the workplace to our Committed to Excellence recognition, we strive for an inclusive culture and treating people with respect, which forms part of our work every day in our charity.

INVESTORS IN DIVERSITY

One of Richmond Fellowship’s key aims is to respond effectively to our diverse communities and to attract and develop a diverse workforce. To reflect this commitment, Richmond Fellowship has worked with National Centre for Diversity to secure Investors in Diversity (IiD) accreditation.

The National Centre for Diversity aims to advance fairness for all in the workplace by helping organisations to embed best equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) practices. They work with organisations to positively influence beliefs, attitudes, behaviours and conduct towards issues surrounding EDI and to transform the workplace environment to one which is equitable and inclusive.

Their Investors in Diversity accreditation, which Richmond Fellowship has proudly held since 2016, provides an all-encompassing methodology for improving equality, diversity and inclusion practices in the workplace and has enabled us to take a structured and planned approach to ensure that EDI is at the heart of what we do. It has also provided us with an excellent framework to bring together all of our organisation’s work around EDI.

INVESTORS IN PEOPLE

Richmond Fellowship has achieved accreditation against the Investors In People Standard, which demonstrates our commitment to high performance through good people management.

Investors in People is the international standard for people management, defining what it takes to lead, support and manage people effectively to achieve sustainable results. Underpinning the Standard is the Investors in People framework, reflecting the latest workplace trends, essential skills and effective structures required to outperform in any industry and enables us to benchmark against the best in the business on an international scale.

DISABILITY CONFIDENT

Richmond Fellowship is accredited as a Disability Confident employer. To achieve this status, we have demonstrated our commitment to:

  • Ensure our recruitment processes are inclusive and accessible
  • Communicating and promoting vacancies
  • Offering an interview to disabled people
  • Anticipating and providing reasonable adjustments as required
  • Supporting any existing employee who acquires a disability or long term health condition, enabling them to stay in work
  • At least one activity that will make a difference for disabled people.

CHAS ACCREDITED

Richmond Fellowship is a CHAS health and safety accredited contractor.

CHAS (The Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme) was created by experienced health and safety professionals in 1997 to improve health and safety standards across the UK.

CYBER ESSENTIALS

Recovery Focus holds Cyber Essentials accreditation, which aims to help organisations implement basic levels of protection against cyber attack, demonstrating to their customers that they take cyber security seriously.

As part of our accreditation application, we were required to assess ourselves against five basic security controls and a qualified assessor then verified the information provided.

The five basic controls within Cyber Essentials were chosen because, when properly implemented, they will help to protect against unskilled internet-based attackers using commodity capabilities – which are freely available on the internet.

Organisations that undertake Cyber Essentials are encouraged to recertify at least once a year and, where appropriate, progress their security. Since 1 October 2014, Cyber Essentials became a minimum requirement for bidding for some government contracts. For further information please visit www.cyberstreetwise.com\cyberessentials

ISO14001

Richmond Fellowship’s Head Office has secured ISO14001 accreditation. ISO14001 is a standard relating to environmental management that exists to help:

  • Minimise how business operations negatively affect the environment
  • Comply with applicable laws, regulations and other environmentally oriented requirements
  • Continually improve in the above areas.

RESPECT

Our Domestic Abuse services working with perpetrators of domestic abuse are accredited by Respect. The Respect Standard sets out an evidence-based, safety-focused framework which identifies good practice and offers guidance for organisations to ensure that they are meeting the needs of service users safely and effectively.

By evidencing that they meet the Respect Standard, organisations demonstrate their competence in working with perpetrators of domestic violence and abuse with the safety of survivors and their children at the heart.

It encompasses all work an organisation carries out with perpetrators, including:

  • early intervention
  • behaviour change programmes (groupwork or 1-2-1)
  • high intensity case management with high risk perpetrators
  • disruption activities.

Mindful Employer

Mindful Employer is a national initiative supporting employers to take a positive approach towards mental health at work. By signing the Mindful Employer charter, we make a public declaration of our ambition to support the mental wellbeing of our staff.
