We help individuals with mental health problems to find paid employment, or unpaid voluntary work. We also assist employers and employees to successfully resolve mental health problems in the workplace.

We offer a range of support services, information, advice and guidance. This includes help with identifying job opportunities and appropriate employers, job applications, CV preparation, interview practice, training, and benefits advice.

How we help

Each individual is allocated their own employment advisor who meets with them to explore their personal career goals, including any concerns they may have about achieving them.

At the first appointment, they assist the client to develop their own individual action plan, including searching for the paid employment which is right for them. Our advisors keep in regular contact with individuals and encourage and assist them to identify and apply for opportunities, and to work towards their goal.

The plan can be adapted to include elements of support to improve confidence, self esteem, work skills, or work experience, or to include support into unpaid voluntary work as a step towards paid employment.

Who we can help

Our service is available to adults with a diagnosed mental health problem (including anxiety, depression, and ADHD). Individuals need to have an insight into their own mental health problems and want to engage with our services.

We welcome referrals from organisations providing services to people with mental health problems, and self referrals. Please contact us if you would like support to self refer.

Our approach

At the heart of everything we do lies:

  • Hope: the belief that recovery is possible for every individual
  • Respect: valuing differences and all contributions
  • Enabling: giving people encouragement and support to achieve their goals
  • Inclusion: the belief that everyone has a right to participate fully in society.
