We aim to encourage people to become more confident and independent and help them develop the skills they need to live a better quality of life. Support is individually tailored to individual goals and needs and is delivered utilising a person centred support plan and personal risk management plan. Our staff provide support jointly with other key local agencies such as community mental health trusts and specialist substance misuse providers to meet the needs and the lifestyle of each individual.

How we help

We offer a wide range of support including mental and physical wellbeing, tenancy management, budgeting, cooking, self care and living skills to name a few. Support is for people with low to medium support needs. Our staff are able to provide support Mondays to Fridays 9am-9pm and there is an on-call service available outside these times to deal with emergencies.

Greensands comprises 15 rooms with shared kitchen, bathroom and communal facilities, five of which are ensuite. The accommodation is short-stay (up to two years) offering a period of stability and adjustment to single adults with a diagnosed mental health problem and with a substance and/or alcohol misuse need, who are also deemed homeless.

We’re located near to Sevenoaks town and is a 15 minute walk away from amenities such as doctors, post office and pharmacists.

Who we can help

Our service is open to individuals aged 18 and over who have a local connection with Kent. They must have a mental health diagnosis and substance misuse and/or alcohol support need, be under a CPA and in treatment, be linked in with a specialist substance misuse provider, and be willing to engage with the services necessary to help support their recovery.

Our approach

At the heart of everything we do lies:

  • Hope: the belief that recovery is possible for every individual
  • Respect: valuing differences and all contributions
  • Enabling: giving people encouragement and support to achieve their goals
  • Inclusion: the belief that everyone has a right to participate fully in society.
