Mental health services on show in Newcastle
Our mental health services will be on show today (30 September) at the Richmond Fellowship open day to showcase our brand new office in North Shields
We have invited along local commissioners and members of the council to see first hand the services we provide to help make mental health recovery reality in the city.
Our Pele Tower supported housing service has long been a place of safety and support for people living with mental health problems in the city as we give them the skills and confidence to move toward independent living.
Karyn Ainsley, locality manager for Richmond Fellowship in Newcastle, said: “We’re very please to be holding this open day and showcasing our brand new office to local commissioners.
“The open day gives staff and the people who use our services the chance to showcase what they do and band the drum for the services we provide to people in the area living with a mental health problem.”
The open day comes at our time when we’ve launched new services in the city working with the probation service on a programme of liaison and diversion to help provide support to offenders with their mental health problems.
Elsewhere in the city we’ve launched a Talking Therapies programme that works within the IAPT model to provide a holistic package of support for people to help give them the skills and confidence to progress along their recovery journey.
