John Gatward

John Gatward

John qualified as a chartered accountant before spending more than 15 years at the Housing Corporation, where his principal role was running the national programme of capital funding for housing associations. He played a key role in the introduction of mixed private loan and public grant funding, the basis of the current funding regime. After a period as Registrar, John left the Corporation to be Chief Executive of Hanover Housing Association, directing its emergence as the leading exponent of extra care housing for older people. He is currently Clerk to the Council of the Congregation of the Sisters of Nazareth and a non-executive director of Servite Houses.
