Using ingredients from nature to give colour to our textiles and papers is a magical process. We are still learning the ways to work with different plants and vegetables (using mordants as natural fixatives) to create the full spectrum of the rainbow.

Some of our favourite days are when we spend the time exploring the dyeing process and end up with rows of different shades of muslin and silks hanging in the gardens. Our application of the textiles has been primarily to make original sculpted vases to be used with dried grasses and seed-heads.

Working with glass is quite special. As part of our ongoing commitment to work with skilled craftspeople, as well as many other mediums, we have had 2 series of stained-glass workshops run onsite. On a more on-going process we are exploring techniques of warm glass and etching, and the design implications for slumping and moulding coloured glasses. Clients have found it very satisfying, and we have made small pieces for necklaces and used glass with other mediums such as copper and clay for mobiles and individual art work. We can see it's potential for garden sculpture.
