In line with government policy, RF is developing personalisation fit for purpose locally and nationally, in a planned and managed way. The 'Putting People First' agenda reflects the core values RF has put into practice since it was founded. Self-directed support is a natural development of what RF already does in all its different Services. It's about truly listening to individuals and acting on their ideas of what is important to them.
Independent Steps in West Sussex and Rotherham Community Based Services are just two examples of RF leading the way with self-directed support packages and individual direct payments.
Eliminating Mixed Sex Accommodation: All providers of NHS funded care are expected to eliminate mixed-sex accommodation, except where it is in the overall best interest of the patient, in accordance with the definitions set out by the DH. RF do provide a number of NHS funded care services – though only a minority of these fall within the bounds of registration with the Care Quality Commission as providing registered activities.
