How we help
We encourage and support people with mental health problems to re-learn or develop independent living skills, whilst supporting and challenging them to develop their own aspirations.
Our aim is to move people on from our care homes into our self contained flats or into the community within a two year time frame.
Our advice and support includes helping people to:
- manage their mental health and medication
- manage their finances
- maintain their home and tenancy
- access work and education
- re-build social and family commitments, faith and beliefs
- empower people to have their say and be socially included
- access other services.
Our staff support people to understand the care and support choices available to them. The people we work with are fully and continually involved in all aspects of their care, support and decision making processes. All residents are supported by a named staff member who is their key worker. The support offered always focuses on people’s strengths, aspirations and goals.
The people we work with are encouraged and supported to express their views about the service.
We always ensure that the privacy, dignity and independence of the people we work with are always respected and maintained.
Who we can help
Referrals should be made by the recovery team of the Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health Trust (BEHMHT), for people in their care. We also welcome referrals from other boroughs and those funded by local authorities or Clinical Commissioning Groups.
At the heart of everything we do lies:
- Hope: the belief that recovery is possible for every individual
- Respect: valuing differences and all contributions
- Enabling: giving people encouragement and support to achieve their goals
- Inclusion: the belief that everyone has a right to participate fully in society.
