At Carranmore care home we provide a twenty four hour residential service for up to six people with enduring mental health problems.
Our service aims to address the needs of those that have experienced long term difficulties with their mental health issues.
How we help
We aim to provide a safe and therapeutic environment where residents can explore the nature of their current experience with a view to containing their present issues and looking at possible ways of coping with similar difficulties in the future. We use several tools in the recovery process to help each individual. These are reviewed at regular intervals.
Our trained staff support people in a variety of ways, from practical assistance with things like cooking, budgeting, shopping, claiming benefits, arranging activities and social events, or just being there if they need a chat or reassurance or talk over any issues before they escalate.
Who we can help
Our service is available to anyone with an enduring mental health problem being supported by a community mental health team. We accept referrals from community psychiatric nurses or social workers.
We can arrange for a visit so you can have a look round the home. You can have choice of which room you would prefer depending on availability. We can also offer an overnight stay to help you feel more comfortable about moving in.
At the heart of everything we do lies:
- Hope: the belief that recovery is possible for every individual
- Respect: valuing differences and all contributions
- Enabling: giving people encouragement and support to achieve their goals
- Inclusion: the belief that everyone has a right to participate fully in society.
