Giving thousands of people each year a new sense of purpose and fulfilment, we’re one of the UK’s biggest providers of mental health care. Join us in Darlington, and become part of the most innovative mental health organisation in the country.
As a Senior Support Worker, you’ll help us develop and deliver a flexible new floating support service in Darlington. Operating during office hours, but also with an on-call facility, it will provide essential assistance to a complex needs client group with mental health issues – many of whom have been affected by homelessness.
You’ll divide your time between client contact and management duties. On the management side of things, you’ll help us develop and deliver a first-rate service – monitoring and evaluating our work, and ensuring that we’re meeting our objectives in the most practical and creative ways possible. You’ll also assist in the recruitment and induction of staff.
On the client contact side, you’ll act as keyworker to a caseload of clients – helping them realise their full potential and live more independently. Throughout your work, you’ll carry out risk assessments, develop personal support plans and provide both practical and emotional assistance.
This is an excellent opportunity for a professional who enjoys making a difference to people’s lives. Organised, friendly and a good listener, you’ll have some experience in a similar role, and will share our commitment to empowering service users. It’s also important that you’re comfortable prioritising your own workload, leading a team and working under pressure.
Finally, you must be able to work on call, including some evenings and weekends.
We offer great benefits, including 25 days’ holiday per year, contributory pension scheme, employee assistance programme and childcare vouchers.
