Every year Richmond Fellowship (RF) helps hundreds of people to gain a new sense of purpose and fulfilment in lives that have often been affected by mental health problems, sometimes associated with sexual abuse or drug and alcohol misuse.

RF was founded in 1959 by Elly Jansen. Taking advantage of the first Mental Health Act she bought a house in Richmond, Surrey and invited patients from Long Grove Hospital to leave and live with her in the community.

We have come a long way since the setting up of our first house and we now run over 100 specialist services. These include care homes with nursing, community housing, employment and training services and outreach schemes, all of which are designed to restore an individual's sense of security and purpose.

On this website the people who use our services and the staff who make this work possible share with you their unique experiences.

Richmond Fellowship is also dedicated to the support and further training of all its staff and benefits from a highly qualified in-house training team. We offer a range of positions including support workers, employment advisors, Registered Mental Nurses and Registered Learning Disability Nurses. We employ nurses as dual diagnosis workers, deputy managers and service managers and have a strong internal promotion history. The staff employed across our organisation make a real contribution to the lives of our service users.
